Whoa, the holidays. (aka, What’s your address?)

Things I learned while shopping at King’s supermarket this morning:  Middle-aged women sure love XM Sirius radio’s ‘Sixties on Six’ programming.  (Okay, okay, The Beach Boys again?)  The ingredients for just one pumpkin pie could probably kill you, but who cares?  Someone actually reads this blog (tip of the hat to friend-of-the-blog Barbara Lafleur!).  And about those middle-aged women again: If you are a early-thirties man wearing a buttoned-down blue shirt and crossing off items on a list, two out of three of ’em will think you manage the store.

Whoa, this madness starts... Friday?!

Yes, whoa, the holidays are here.  Time to dress up as Abe Lincoln while painting eggs, guzzling firecrackers and explaining the myth of the Chanukah bush.  (I maybe had a wee bit too much gin this morning.)

But with the holidays comes one of my favorite times: my parent’s annual Cookies & Cocktails neighborhood holiday party, set for Sunday, December 20th at 6 pm, and now in it’s-wait for it-12th year.  Whoa indeed.

Tenafly High School Class of... Forever?

So, please send your address if you think this blog doesn’t have it (to wallymarzano@gmail.com).  Send it even if you can’t make the party, as there’s the annual holiday family card!  It is, once again, that time of the year.  Sheer madness plus extra-high postage bills.

Of course they’ll be more postings in this space about what is now the fifth annual last Christmas party, and the holidays in general, but for now:  Please forward those snail mails.  And Happy Thanksgiving!

Sunday, December 20th, 6 pm. Don't forget the mulled cider.

Seriously, Wally? You’ve just invited everyone in blog-dom to your house! Redact the address at least!
